R5 Football Kicks Off

R5-area high-school Football kicks off at 11am, Friday September 3 in Ardmore.

Lower Merion HS' General Arnold Field (pictured right) will host the Central League Football opener between Harriton and Lower Merion.

Last year, Lower Merion thumped Harriton 22-0, but this year's Harriton Rams are looking for a boost from Senior transfer, Spencer Reid, son of Eagles head coach Andy Reid.

The Philadelphia Inquirer reports Reid is an exciting RB/LB who has received collegiate interest from Utah and Temple. His addition is expected to be a boost for the Rams looking to rebound from a 2-9 campaign in 2009.

The Lower Merion Aces will look to improve on 2009's 3-8 record under head coach Jon Rothberg.

General Arnold Field is a short walk from the Wynnewood R5 station and features plenty of parking. Enter off Montgomery Ave. in Ardmore, right across from the revamped LMHS campus.
